Oil Is The Enabler of Military Power
It is incorrect to say that oil is an unimportant reason to wage war - It may not be the only reason, but, it is an extremely important reason wars are fought- Controlling access or denying access to oil is something that's been discussed at the blog. There is a vicious circle of needing oil to wage war- waging war to access oil. While all along the way- profits are made. And most pathetically a free pass is given by the AGW cult to the war machine every single day-tsisageyaMay 17, 2018 at 6:43 PMOil. Why is oil so important? Is it cars? What else? I just don't know....
Originally, it was the writings of Mahan and Mackinder on Naval power and geopolitics, combined with the final conclusion of the USS Maine inquiry that the explosion that destroyed it in Havana Harbor was most likely from a spontaneous fire in the coal bunker that overheated and ignited the ammo in the adjacent ammo bunker. Thus leading all of the major and wanna-be naval powers to race for control of oil to replace the more dangerous and harder to handle coal as fuel for their battle fleets.Nothing better than oil to move ships, planes and tanks around. Oil is the enabler of military power. Both World Wars were already decided by oil.
take 2:
It's funny aka strange to me that most, but not all people, fail to consider the importance of oil in war making- this is one of many issues that I take exception too regarding the AGW claims- war making is never addressed... by the cult adherents
Total US Military Oil Consumption (2011) is 360,000 barrels of oil per day.
That is 360,000 barrels of oil a day, every single day of the year. That is minimally more then 131,400,000 barrels of oil a year. It's likely even more then this chart shows as of 2018-
Since the US has been waging an ever growing war- on an ever expanding global battlefield since 2011. At 2018, present day price per barrel of 70.00. That oil consumed by the US Military, in just one year, would cost approximately 9 Billion, 198 Million dollars every year!
It boggles ones mind.
Chart from here
A more recent article has makes it very clear my more then 9 billion dollars a year figure is way to low
Reuters
The military’s average annual oil bill was about $14.28 billion between 2007 and 2015.
