1- Russia and Turkey: 5th Join Patrol along M-4 HighwayRussian and Turkish servicemen conducted the fifth joint patrol mission along the M4 highway linking the cities of Aleppo and Latakia in Syria’s Idlib governorate, the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria said on Tuesday.The Idlib ceasefire continues to hold. Whatever has been worked out with regard to Idlib had to be have been known to Syria, Russia and Turkey. Perhaps not down to the detail, but, overall Syria knew as it actively moved people by the bus loads to that province. To deny their active role in populating Idlib with mercenaries, thugs etc is to deny reality.
The mission was conducted under the agreements between the Russian and Turkish presidents of March 5.
"The Russian side used two BTR-82A personnel carriers and a Tigr armored car. The joint Russian-Turkish convoy was backed by unmanned aerial vehicles of the Russian aerospace forces," it said, adding that the mission was controlled by the Joint Coordinating Center.
The first Russian-Turkish patrol mission along this section of the M4 highway in the Idlib de-escalation zone was conducted on March 15. Such missions were further conducted on March 23, April 8, and April 15.
2- Israel launched more airstrikes against Syria, from Lebanese airspace:
Syrian air defenses opened fire and shot down several missiles launched by Israeli warplanes Monday night near the central historic town of Palmyra, state media said.
The strikes came hours after Iran's Foreign Minister Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif was in Damascus where he met with Assad and his Syrian counterpart.
Israel has in the past used Lebanon's airspace to launch attacks on Syria and Israeli drones and warplanes were flying over Lebanon earlier Monday. There was no immediate comment from Israel.
3- Russian S-U 35 Intercepting US Reconnaissance Aircraft, twice.
Su-35 fighter jets were scrambled to intercept the U.S Navy P-8A submarine reconnaissance aircraft as he approached Syrian airspace, the Russian Ministry of Defense has said.
The Russian Su-35 fighters scrambled to intercept American reconnaissance aircraft, which was heading towards military facilities in Syria on 20 April.
It is also noted that the intercepting of the American plane also took place in the sky above the Mediterranean Sea on Sunday, April 19. The fighter rose from the Khmeimim air base to identify an unknown object in the airspace.
“On April 19, the Russian equipment controlling the airspace over the neutral waters of the Mediterranean Sea detected an air target performing a flight towards Russia’s military facilities in the Syrian Arab Republic. A fighter jet from the air defense alert quick reaction force of the Hmeymim air base was scrambled to identify the target,” the ministry said in a statement.
The plane belonged to the U.S. Navy.

4- Astana Guarantors Meet Tomorrow via video conference
Astana process guarantors (Russia, Iran, Turkey) foreign ministers will hold a round of talks on Syria on April 22, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Monday.
“We confirm that trilateral ministerial Astana talks on Syria will be held on April 22 via video conference.” Zakharova added.
Earlier, informed Russian diplomatic sources announced that the foreign ministers of the guarantor countries will hold talks “via video conference technology” this week on the situation in Syria.
Earlier on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif at a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad announced that the trilateral talks focused on Syria’s constitutional committee and developments in the Syrian province of Idlib would be held shortly.
The latest round of Astana talks took place on December 10-11, 2019 in Nur-Sultan. The next meeting was planned for March 2020, however, the meeting was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. This meeting, which was set to take place in Iran, remains on the agenda.
