Playwrights! Have you had a reading/production/workshop canceled or indefinitely postponed because of Coronavirus? If so, we want to read your play! We have multiple windows in our 2020-21 season for play readings and we want to fill them with work that was just on the cusp of taking that next step before outside forces intervened.
Please, only full-length plays that have not yet had a NYC-area premiere.
In your submission, please include whether you were expecting a reading, workshop, or production and whether it was canceled or indefinitely posted.
Please also share where it was originally going to take place. There are no restrictions on cast size, subject matter, or genre.
In your email, include a PDF of the full play and a one-page bio/resume.
Email materials to info@uptheater.org with the word "RENEWAL" in the title.
UP Theater Company is celebrating ten years of developing and producing new work in its home base of Northern Manhattan. We like plays that are relevant to this time and place, but that challenge, rather than confirm, our pre-conceived notions.
