New Online Workshops at Primary Stages ESPA!

We’ve announced new Online Workshops at Primary Stages ESPA! Whether you want to work on your Artistic Statement, tackle your Social Media presence to establish your artistic brand, or banish writer’s block and Jumpstart a New Play, we have the workshop for you!

We’re dedicated to giving you a creative community while social distancing - we have classes and workshops to hone your craft online, and also have our Primary Plus: Virtual Community which offers free playwriting sessions, master classes, and more! Even though we are socially distant, we won’t let you be isolated.

Online Workshop: Social Media for Artists

Instructor: Dana Lerner (Tony Award-Nominated Producer for Broadway's Indecent and Company, Founder and CEO of Red Pelican Creative)

Monday, May 11

6pm – 8pm ET

Social media has become an instrumental place to promote your work and establish your brand - and whether you love it or hate it, it's one of the best marketing tools that you have as an artist. Whether you're new to this online content or a social media expert, Dana will help you focus your messaging and create a social media strategy in order to build your brand.

Online Workshop: The Artistic Statement

The Artistic Statement is a deeply dreaded, but required, field of most playwright development opportunities. This 2-day workshop will help you conquer the overwhelming task of writing about yourself and your work.

Online Workshop: Jumpstart a New Play Parts 1 & 2

Instructor: Winter Miller (Writer, In Darfur at The Public, No One Is Forgotten at Rattlestick)

Part 1: May 30 & 31

Part 2: June 6 & 7

12pm – 5pm ET

Sometimes it’s inevitable: writers just get stuck. Part 1 of this workshop will inspire you to get cracking on your next play and generate material. If you want to challenge yourself to keep writing and take a deeper dive into the work, Part 2 will delve into character development.

Online First Draft - one spot left, starting next week!
