Repeat Lockdowns & The Definition of Insanity: Resistance Grows
Following along on the theme of Lockdowns Kill (Shelter in Place)
The mild-mannered city council in Ottawa is not the sort of confrontational group to lead the resistance against heavy-handed provincial authority.Which tells us 92 percent, the overwhelming majority of positive tests did not mention a restaurant or gym. So, why shut down restaurants and gyms?
But after Premier Doug Ford shut down indoor restaurants, gyms, sports and theatre venues as coronavirus feeding centres in the red-zoned national capital region, Ottawa councillors retorted with a unanimous challenge on Wednesday: Prove it.
And the authorities can’t. Or won’t.
The city’s public health officer says eight per cent of positive cases mentioned a restaurant or gym as a pitstop in their recent travels-
“No information’ and ‘no known source’ listed as two of the top three sources of infection.”
“This sort of mess is unfolding across the country as federal and provincial leaders put on a public face of unity designed primarily to protect their butts from blame”
Look at us we’re in charge. And we’re doing something. We, the leaders, are leading.
There was a ghostly apocalypse-like emptiness to major Ontario highways over the Easter holiday. Last weekend saw normal holiday traffic jams as Canadians flipped the Thanksgiving bird at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s declaration that family get-togethers had to be cancelled to try and save Christmas.
It’s no wonder Canadians are voting with their cars. The second pandemic verse is becoming worse than the first, so it would fit the definition of insanity to expect last spring’s precautions to have any different impact in the fall.
The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result
“Without the data to show how, where and why infections spots are going hot, hitting hospitality, sports and fitness sectors with widespread clampdowns are a lazy, ineffective and irresponsible response.
For example, to close hundreds of safety-enhanced gyms and other indoor venues in Toronto and Ottawa because one spin class in Hamilton triggered an outbreak is over-reaching madness.
To shutter all indoor dining, even those which have taken costly precautions to make it safe, punishes an entire industry for the careless sins of a few, if indeed any are an actual source of transmission.
“Let this be the time for the timid to push back on politicians and public health officials who decree harsh actions in a vacuum of supportive data.”
I’m omitting hard sell vaccine push at the end. It’s an unrealistic idea and contradicts everything the author has mentioned. We’re well on our way to social or community immunity (herd immunity) , despite all attempts to save the virus, from the reality of nature, for the big pharma profiteers.
wikipedia
Social or Community Immunity aka “herd” immunity is a form of indirect protection from infectious disease that occurs when a sufficient percentage of a population has become immune to an infection, whether through vaccination or previous infections, thereby reducing the likelihood of infection for individuals who lack immunity.Immune individuals are unlikely to contribute to disease transmission, disrupting chains of infection, which stops or slows the spread of disease. The greater the proportion of immune individuals in a community, the smaller the probability that non-immune individuals will come into contact with an infectious individual
btw: Rather then using the derogatory ‘herd immunity’ I’m going to use either social or community immunity. Leaning towards social as in societal and social beings having immunity. Though community isn't bad either. Which do you think would be the better non derogatory description?
Let me know.

Even if the virus was as life-threatening to seniors as the mainstream narrative claims, it should seem clear that months and months of lockdowns are not the solution. What is the purpose of extending someone’s life by a few years in such an intolerable way? And, how could such inhumane conditions not be even more life-threatening than the virus they are trying to avoid?
But what if, as the data suggests, COVID-19 is on par with the regular flu season? Then such treatment of seniors suggests we have devolved into the Brave New World depicted in Aldous Huxley’s novel — where old people are considered useless eaters that need to be euthanized.
I'd previously written extensively about the situation in the LTC/Nursing homes.
