Established in July 2000, the Summer One-Acts is the longest-running one-act play competition in the Tampa Bay area. We accept submissions from authors who reside in the United States of America. Entries are judged anonymously on their literary content.
Running time 5 to 15 minutes maximum.
Never produced in the Tampa Bay Area
No adaptations, children's plays, or monologues.
Cast size 8 maximum. Simple staging and sets.
Family-friendly. No nudity, foul language.
You can submit up to three plays.
No entry fees.
MAILING GUIDELINES
Include a cover letter with author name, mailing address, telephone, email
Include 2 copies of play - eliminate any author info from script pages
Include the number of characters, character breakdown, a synopsis on the first page.
Only use paper clips. No staples, binders, folders
Scripts will not be returned
No email submissions
Do not visit the theater to "drop off" scripts

Use regular US Mail. Do not send scripts by certified mail or signature required.
A stipend of $50 will be paid to the author for any one-act that we produce.
All applicants will be notified of decisions no later than April 15, 2022
Plays will be presented for July 14-24, 2022
Members of the Gulfport Community Player vote for their "favorite" playwright, director, actress, actor.
