Femuscripts is looking for plays from writers who are also women, female-identifying or non-binary, AND who live in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, or Tennessee. 

 PLEASE DO NOT SEND WORK IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OF THESE STATES. 

BIPOC WRITERS ENCOURAGED AND PREFERRED.

Other criteria: 
  • ONE ACTS or FULL LENGTH plays only.
  • Plays that have not been produced (readings are fine, but no full productions)
  • Plays must be centered on the theme of hope and/or rejuvenation. 
  • Any genre welcome. 
  • No more than 5 characters.

Format: standard playwriting format according to Dramatist Guild guidelines.

PLEASE SEND PDFS ONLY! No Word documents will be accepted.

No fee to submit. 

Playwrights may submit up to 2 plays.

Deadline to receive work: October 17, 2022. 

Production of either one full length or two one-acts will be in Spring 2023.
