web site
Pint-Sized is looking for entries for October-Fest, our week-long festival of short plays at The Bunker Theatre, London in October 2019.
A smaller print version of this callout is available here, and an audio version is available here.
DEADLINE: Thursday 27th June, 11pm.
What do we offer?
£150.00 fee paid to writers whose work is selected.
A mentor to give feedback on your work; previous mentors have included:
Your work staged alongside four other pieces for a week at Bunker Theatre, in front of agents and literary departments from major theatres
Regular attendees include Royal Court, Young Vic, Bush, Soho, Curtis Brown and Casarotto.
All access requirements met.
Feedback given to all longlisted writers, and to all writers who apply and identify as:
How to apply:
Email your piece to pintsizedplays@gmail.com by 11pm on June 27th.
Pieces should be 10-15 minutes, either stand-alone shorts or excerpts from longer work.
Only one piece submitted per writer.
No need for pieces to fit a particular theme or genre; if it’s good writing, we’re interested in it.
No need to sell yourself in a cover letter - we read the plays separately from your emails.
Everything we offer is free; if you’re trying to submit and come across a page asking you to pay, you’re looking at Pint-Sized Plays, based in Wales, who are lovely and good people, but aren’t us.
Who should send us work?
You should. No matter who you are, whether you feel like a writer or not, we’d love to read your work.
Pint-Sized is committed to a more representative industry, and works alongside companies led by artists of colour, and disabled artists, around the country, along with partners like the Young Vic’s Fresh Direction scheme.
If you feel like you’re not getting a fair break in the industry, we’d like to be a part of the solution; it doesn’t mean we’ll automatically choose your work, but it does mean we’ll try to support you however we can - always for free, and never with any obligation from you.
Feel free to get in touch with any questions; we're happy to lend advice, help or support throughout the process, so do get in touch if you need anything.
All the best, and have a lovely summer,
