For the past few days, I've been warning that a Big Smear is coming. I predict that the FBI will discover "evidence" (planted, but persuasive) that Bill Clinton was part of the Epstein operation.But what if there's another target? What if the Trumpers also plan to destroy Barack Obama?
What worries me is this:
President Donald Trump said Thursday he is still reviewing a possible commutation of disgraced former Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s prison term on federal corruption charges despite opposition from Illinois congressional Republicans.Why the hell would Trump even consider such an act? Helping Blago can't possibly please Trump's base. Showing mercy to Democrats ain't Trump's style.
As long time readers know, I was not an Obama fan during the 2008 campaign. Initially, he had my support -- but then I did a little more digging into his history. One of the things that turned me around was the work of Evelyn Pringle (here and here).
I give you the opening paragraph from the first of the above-cited articles:

There's plenty of evidence that he was corrupt during his Chicago years.
Republicans refused to use this material in 2008 and 2012, but Trump loves to play filthy. Blago got lots of kickbacks and pay-offs throughout his career -- including a strange contribution from some goombahs in Vegas with Italian names. Pringle's work demonstrates that whenever Mr. B got money, Mr. O got money too. Yes, the money came in the form of campaign contributions, and yes, the amounts were not huge. But the people who coughed up that dough tended to be...noteworthy.
Allow me to republish some words published more than a decade ago...
Senate Bill 1332.There's much more. I suppose that Obama's minor-league corruption seems trivial when compared to Trump's outlandish criminality. But if Blago were to walk about of prison and spill all the beans, Obama's reputation -- and the reputation of the Democratic party -- would take a major hit. Blago might eve be willing to tell some Big Damned Lies about Barack Obama.
Remember that number. Bring it up anytime someone asks why you have the crazy idea that Barack Obama is corrupt.
Senate Bill 1332 was Obama's baby. The legislation -- completely unneeded, from the standpoint of the public -- reduced the state's hospital board from 15 to 9, and insured that the corrupt governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, would control the board which controlled a huge pile of public funds.
The corrupt members appointed included three doctors who contributed to Obama.
Is Trump planning to use Blago as a weapon against the Dems? I believe so. C'mon, think about it: Does Donald Trump have any other motive for helping Rod Blagojevich?
That's why I'm overjoyed to see Elizabeth Warren closing in on Joe Biden. Warren is not directly tied to any previous presidency. And she can't be Me Tooed.
